Cap SA is a Chile-based holding company that, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, is principally engaged in the mining sector and the steel industry. Its business is structured in three areas: CAP Mining, comprising the operations of Compania Minera del Pacifico SA (CMP), an entity active in the production of iron ore and pellets; CAP Steel, which covers the activities of Compania Siderurgica Huachipato SA (CSH), a manufacturer of steel products made with natural raw materials; and CAP Steel Solutions, operating through Novacero SA, Cintac SA and Intasa SA, which specialize in the development of steel products, such as pipes, tubes and plates used in the construction, industrial and infrastructure sectors. As of December 31, 2012, the Company also owned such subsidiaries as Puerto Las Losas SA and Port Investments Limited NV, among others. In addition, it was a 31.32%-owned affiliate of Invercap SA.
